A tribute to Oddbodz collector cards

An avid young collector grew into a nostalgic hoarder - here is my online showcase of an obsession from days gone by.

The pictures displayed are primarily of my own collection, across five series. I haven't included either of the Footy Oddbodz as they weren't released in NZ. Click the blue home icon button on the top left to be redirected.

About Oddbodz

Oddbodz were iconic trading cards designed by artist Andy Hook, produced by Glow Zone, and distributed by Bluebird in New Zealand and Smith's in Australia.

The cards became playground currency as kids all over NZ and Australia tried to complete their sets.

Released 1995-1997 there were several different series to collect.

The series were:

Oddbodz Glo

Oddbodz Space

Oddbodz in Hypervision

Hyperheads in Hypervision

Twisted Oddbodz

Footy Oddbodz

Footy Oddbodz in Hypervision

Oddbodz in hypervision and both footy oddbodz series were never released in NZ.

Each series has special 'HOT' versions of each card. On these cards there is a heat sensitive print that when rubbed reveals a hidden picture. The oddbodz in hypervision, footy oddbodz in hypervision and space series cards also came in orange glow, which were even more rare than HOT versions.

The most rare of all was the 'blue fever' HOT card. These looked like a regular HOT card, but once rubbed blue spots were revealed. If you found one of these, you could send it away for a full set of original purple back cards in orange glow.
